Wangpo Tethong, Executive Director of ICT Europe, has expressed his gratitude to Dainius \u017dalimas on behalf of Tibet groups across Europe for his video statement delivered at the Tibet Conference held at the Latvian Saeima on 3 June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his message, Tethong highlighted the significant impact of \u017dalimas's video address, noting that it played a decisive role in motivating conference participants to move beyond discussion and commit to concrete action \u2014 most notably in response to China's Ethnic Unity Law and in support of a call for an EU representative for Tibet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Your video message was of the utmost importance in sparking the initiative at the conference to take concrete steps in response to China's Ethnic Unity Law and to call for an EU representative for Tibet.\"<\/em><\/strong> \u2014 Wangpo Tethong, ICT Europe <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference gave rise to a parliamentary signature initiative led by Latvian MP Juris Vilums, who is currently collecting signatures for a Joint Statement in Riga, Vilnius, and Tallinn. Tibet groups in Europe hope to expand this effort to other European parliaments in the weeks ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
