Dutch D66 Party Leader Jan Paternotte has issued a message of support to participants of the Tibet Conference held at the Latvian Saeima in Riga on June 6th 2026. In his remarks, he expressed concern over China's recently adopted \u201cLaw on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress\u201d, warned against policies of forced assimilation in Tibet and other regions, and called for stronger European coordination on Tibet, including the appointment of an EU Special Representative for Tibet and the development of a common EU-Tibet strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
